Rachel Franz is the owner and lead teacher at Sunflower Day School with over 20 years of teaching experience. As a young child growing up in Kansas, Rachel dreamed of opening a preschool in Colorado. After graduating from the University of Kansas with an Early Childhood Education degree in 2000, Rachel followed her heart and passion for music and moved to Austin, Texas. While in Austin, Rachel was given the opportunity to nanny for a wonderful family.

After four amazing years of traveling and caring for three sweet girls, Rachel moved to Colorado to embark on her journey with Sunflower Day School. In 2004, with the love and support of her amazing family, Rachel opened Sunflower Day School in Centennial, Colorado. During her 15 years of teaching in Colorado, Rachel was given the opportunity to share her gift and passion for education with hundreds of young children in the Colorado community.

In 2020, Rachel moved to Laramie, Wyoming where she continues to teach, coaches softball, volunteers in the Laramie community and enjoys the beautiful Snowies with her family and friends.

Rachel believes that Sunflower Day School provides young children of Laramie a unique early childhood education experience, where each child is given a strong foundation to learn, grow and become young leaders within this wonderful community.
